Recruiter

VitalSource Technologies
$75,000 - $90,000Hybrid

About The Position

VitalSource® is seeking a Recruiter to join our People team, with preferred locations in Raleigh, NC, or Boston, MA, though applicants outside these areas will be considered. This role is responsible for managing the full hiring lifecycle at VitalSource, reporting to the Senior Director, Talent Management. The Recruiter will collaborate with hiring managers to source, attract, and hire top talent, managing a workload of 10-12 open roles concurrently. Key aspects of the role include driving pipeline health through proactive sourcing and ensuring an equitable and inclusive candidate experience. This is a consultative position where the Recruiter acts as a trusted advisor, providing market context, managing the process from intake to offer, and ensuring calibration alignment.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, in a technology environment.
  • Proficiency in an ATS platform; Jobvite experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of ADP or a comparable HRIS for offer and onboarding coordination.
  • Experience drafting and refining job descriptions that accurately reflect the role.
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously.
  • Clear, candid written and verbal communication with candidates, hiring managers, and team members.
  • Sound judgment in candidate assessment; ability to distinguish must-haves from preferences and redirect when calibration drifts.
  • A sense of urgency to fill roles efficiently with the right fit for both the candidate and VitalSource.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using AI tools, including Claude, to improve efficiency in sourcing, job description drafting, and candidate communications.
  • A bachelor's degree is not required; this is a skills-based role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruiting lifecycle across 10 to 12 open requisitions simultaneously, from intake through offer, with clear communication at every stage.
  • Partner with hiring managers at intake to define role requirements, calibrate the ideal candidate profile, and align on sourcing strategy, interview process, and timeline.
  • Actively source candidates through Jobvite, LinkedIn, professional networks, employee referrals, and community channels; maintain a healthy pipeline for current and near-term openings.
  • Conduct structured recruiter screens and provide clear, evidence-based candidate assessments to hiring managers.
  • Own the candidate experience from first contact to close, communicating proactively and representing VitalSource's mission and employee value proposition with consistency.
  • Track and report recruiting funnel metrics in Jobvite; surface trends, conversion gaps, and time-to-fill data to the Senior Director, Talent Management.
  • Coach hiring managers on structured interviewing, candidate evaluation, and offer strategy; serve as a trusted advisor, not just a sourcing partner.
  • Support inclusive job description language, sourcing diversification, and structured evaluation practices.
  • Maintain accurate records in Jobvite and ADP; ensure compliance with recordkeeping requirements across all requisitions.
  • Own and maintain job descriptions, partnering with hiring managers to ensure accuracy and alignment before posting.
  • Represent VitalSource at recruiting events and on employer brand channels.
