About The Position

The Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) is seeking a Recruiter to support hiring managers in recruiting values-aligned, social-justice committed team members. This role manages the recruitment and hiring process for a portfolio of sites or departments and supports the development and implementation of sustainable hiring processes, programs, and systems. This specific Recruiter role has a functional focus on Recruitment Operations & Compliance. CEO strongly encourages individuals with lived experience of incarceration or involvement in the justice system to apply.

Requirements

  • At least 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Full-cycle recruiting experience in a high-volume organization.
  • Experience managing operational aspects of recruiting such as high-volume sourcing, compliance, background checks, and reference checks.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and ability with technology (with the Google Suite and preferably with applicant tracking systems).
  • Exceptional operational discipline, managing high-volume scope of work with a focus on meticulous accuracy, efficiency, and strict adherence to all compliance and contractual obligations.
  • Strong project coordination skills, effectively coordinating multiple complex aspects of the hiring lifecycle—including logistics, background checks, and sourcing campaigns—under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and skillfully manage a designated, high-volume caseload of requisitions, adjusting priorities in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and ability to operate with ease in collaborating and liaising with multiple constituencies and departments by tailoring communication efforts to various audiences.
  • Belief in collecting, analyzing, and applying data to drive strategy and decision making.
  • Eagerness, discipline, and resilience in achieving goals individually and collectively, no matter the complexities that arise.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a designated caseload of requisitions, ensuring documentation and progress updates are consistent.
  • Drive comprehensive, full-cycle sourcing strategies across a caseload, identifying channels and building diverse candidate pipelines through platforms including Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter, and job boards.
  • Lead the coordination of recruitment networking events to cultivate diverse candidate pipelines and develop relationships with external recruitment partners.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and develop position-specific sourcing strategies; provide candidate pool demographic data, and provide guidance and updates throughout the search process.
  • Support hiring managers in your caseload by developing job postings, reviewing candidate materials, screening and interviewing, drafting performance tasks, and making offers.
  • Manage the operational cadence for the full talent lifecycle, coordinating key phases from requisition opening, posting of job descriptions, review of initial candidate materials, to the final coordination of performance tasks and offer letters.
  • Build diverse candidate pipelines by sourcing candidates online and offline, developing and nurturing pipelines through recruitment and networking events, building relationships with universities, service organizations, and external recruitment partners, and maintaining a list of prospective candidates for future vacancies.
  • Serve as an active and proactive contributor and collaborator of the larger Employee Experience (EX) team, including leading/engaging in team meetings and representing the EX team on org-wide committees.
  • Continue building upon greater inclusion and cultural competence within the team’s projects and efforts.
  • Lead the generation and distribution of critical operational metrics and status reports for the Talent Acquisition leadership team—covering weekly background check statuses, requisition aging, and time-in-stage metrics—to facilitate proactive caseload management and data-driven problem-solving.
  • Drive essential recruitment operations and high-volume, cross-functional administrative support across the entire Talent Acquisition unit, ensuring seamless workflow for recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Own and manage all compliance-related pre-employment processes, including performing end-to-end reference checks, background checks, and compliance documentation across all sites.
  • Generate and distribute routine operational metrics and status reports for the Talent Acquisition leadership team (e.g., weekly background check status, requisition aging, time-in-stage metrics) to support problem-solving and proactive caseload management.
  • Refine/create, organize, and maintain recruitment resource banks, documentation of best practices and SOPs, and training materials used by hiring managers and the TA team.
