About The Position

Riverside Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture with Select Medical, is seeking a Recreational Therapist for its Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital in Yorktown, VA. This full-time position offers compensation between $23.00 and $30.97 per hour. The hospital is dedicated to providing exceptional and compassionate care for individuals with a wide range of conditions including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations, and multiple traumas. Requirements

• Current national certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required.
• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements appropriate recreation activities for patients in accordance with guidelines set by the organization, hospital and the profession.
• Responsible for provision of therapeutic recreation intervention for an assigned caseload.
• Ensures all patients are oriented to recreation therapy and provides hospital wide leisure, social and divergent programs.
• Serves as an educator to patients on community resources.
