About The Position

The Recreation Therapist (Non-Certified) plans and leads therapeutic recreation activities that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being of adult and geriatric patients. This role helps individuals build daily living and community functioning skills while working closely with Certified Recreation Therapists and the interdisciplinary care team. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong verbal communication skills to lead therapeutic activities
  • Written communication skills for required documentation
  • Current BCLS certification (if required by department/program)
  • Must meet Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or completion of a college program
  • One year of related experience

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat clients with physician referral; develop and document therapeutic recreation plans of care
  • Plan and facilitate group and individual therapeutic recreation interventions
  • Monitor client progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care plan meetings
  • Support department planning, team communication, and program operations
  • Maintain equipment and ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment
  • Assist in mentoring interns, assistants, and volunteers
  • Promote quality improvement, safety, and culturally responsive care
  • Maintain compliance with professional standards and organizational policies
