At Seattle Gymnastics Academy, we operate programs under three types of categories: Play, Learn and Compete. Our Recreational classes, under the Learn umbrella, are at the very heart of what we do - teaching strength, skill and character through gymnastics. As a Recreational Coach, you will help kids of all ages, genders and abilities discover their own strength and confidence. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced gymnast, a competitive gymnast, someone who did gymnastics through high school and wants to continue by teaching others. This is also great opportunity for someone has coaching experience in other sports other than gymnastics and is willing to translate those skill to coaching gymnastics. What you will have in common is a sense of responsibility, willingness to learn, and unwavering commitment to building a safe, positive environment for our kids. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Requirements

  • Must be available at least 1 weekend day and able to work evenings
  • Basic knowledge or experience in gymnastics is required.
  • Experience working as a recreational gymnastics coach or other related sports is required.
  • Effective communicator with children and adults.
  • Must be comfortable with various noise levels; depending on time of day, the facility can be active.
  • The ability to walk on uneven surfaces is necessary on the gymnastics floor.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching progressive gymnastics classes in one of our many departments – Preschool, Recreational, Trampoline & Tumbling, and more!
  • Creating your own lesson plans that are purposeful in teaching progressive gymnastics, and in alignment with the skill chart per level.
  • A consistency in attendance of their class schedules (once set).
  • Tracking skill development and communicating with SGA parents about their child’s progression in your classes.
  • Participating in our paid training opportunities.
  • Assist in light cleaning duties to keep our gyms fresh and ready for the next round of classes.
