About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, this position performs a variety of basic, entry-level duties supporting recreation programs, facilities, and events. Responsibilities focus on customer service, program assistance, and facility support.

Requirements

Must be at least 14 years of age at the time of hire.
Must demonstrate reliability, responsibility, and the ability to follow instructions.
Applicants 18 years of age or older must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Provides courteous and respectful customer service to patrons, participants, and staff.
Assists with the setup and cleanup of recreation programs, events, and facilities.
Maintains cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas.
Follow established rules, policies, and safety procedures.
Responds to basic questions from the public, refers more complex issues to senior staff.
Work scheduled shifts, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Keep score and tracks time during basketball games and activities.
Operate scoreboards and timing devices as instructed.
Communicate with coaches, officials, and staff to support game flow.
Assist with basic setup and cleanup of equipment and playing areas.
Assist staff with organizing and supervising basketball.
Help set up and take down equipment and playing areas.
Encourage participation and positive behavior among participants.
Observe activities and reports safety concerns or issues to supervisors.
