About The Position

The PRN rate is $31.00 hourly plus shift differential.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation.
  • National Certification from the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

  • Administers comprehensive clinical services to patients, including testing, analyses, and evaluations of seriously ill patients or those with complex medical problems.
  • Formulates treatment plans consistent with patient needs.
  • Assists in supervising staff and students and in developing in-service training programs.
  • Maintains an established inventory of supplies and ensures proper use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintains a work area free of debris and clutter.
  • Communicates regularly with the patient care team, patient, family members, and others involved in patient care.
  • Responds to requests for professional information or advice and refers complex matters to appropriate staff.
  • Assesses patients and identifies problems.
  • Instructs and trains patients and families regarding pertinent aspects of patient care.
  • Plans treatment schedules to ensure optimal use of staff and equipment for high-quality patient services.
  • Plans, develops, and implements result-oriented treatment plans responsive to individualized patient needs with clear, measurable goals.
  • Modifies treatment plans according to patient responses.
  • Provides direct patient care and performs specialized treatments according to the individualized plan of care.
  • Collaborates with other members of the patient care team.
  • Utilizes community resources to plan for continued care, support, and follow-up of patients after discharge.
  • Recommends and procures appropriate equipment.
  • Works with manager to formulate a plan for professional development.
  • Attends educational in-services as appropriate.
  • Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.
  • Follows established protocols for documentation specific to the program/setting.
  • Accurately records daily charges for services rendered.
  • Practices organizational and universal standards for sterile technique and infection control, including proper cleaning and sterilization of work surfaces, equipment, and instruments.
  • Attends team conferences to promote an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Works cooperatively with other team members to maintain consistency in providing high-quality, results-oriented service.
  • Conducts in-service programs, provides training to other staff, and serves as a clinical instructor to students.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
