About The Position

Gulfport Behavioral Health System is seeking a Part-time Recreation Therapist, Art Therapist, or Music Therapist to join their team. This role is responsible for planning and implementing recreation activities for assigned programs, defining and implementing treatment goals as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to children, adolescent, adult, and military patients. The position is Monday-Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational, Art, Music, or Recreation therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline.
One (1) year of related experience.
Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques.
Understanding of mental illness.
Certification or licensure by state and/or national governing body in art, occupational, recreation, or music therapy.
Successful completion of CPR Certification.
Successful completion of CPI – de-escalation and restraint training prior to assisting with a restraining procedure or within 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
