Recreation Team Member - Long Term Care
About The Position
The Village of Taunton Mills has an exciting opportunity for an Unscheduled Part Time Recreation Team Member to join their team in Long Term Care. This is a permanent position with an expected start date at the end of June. The hiring rate for this role is $23.26 per collective agreement/employee association agreement. Requirements
- Be enrolled in/completed diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
- Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic care that focusses on flexible living and quality of life
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
- Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health
- An understanding of the relevant sections of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007
