About The Position

The Village of Millers Creek has an exciting opportunity for a Recreation Team Member to join their team. This is a permanent part-time role located at 1401 Harwood Ave. N., Ajax, with an expected start date in August 2026. The hiring/starting rate for this role is $22.59 per hour. Requirements

  • Be enrolled in/completed diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic care that focusses on flexible living and quality of life

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health
  • An understanding of the relevant sections of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007
