Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with favorable driving record.
- Obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
- Pass PA Criminal Background Check
- Obtain PA Childline and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances.
- Pass Drug Screen.
- 2-Step TB Test.
Nice To Haves
- Post-high school education.
- Understanding of 12 step recovery programs and the recovery process.
- Experience conducting therapeutic activities.
- Two years’ experience working with adults.
Responsibilities
- Develops, coordinates, and implements therapeutic and recreational activities programming, both onsite at GRC’s main campus and at offsite locations as needed.
- Supervises patient recreational activities; and if not personally on site, assures that all activities are properly supervised by a staff person.
- Develops, coordinates, and implements 12 step fellowship meeting schedules, both onsite and offsite.
- Implements evidence-based practices utilized in Gateway’s continuum of services in therapeutic recreational activities.
- Acts as a member of the treatment team to provide support for therapists and other technicians by engaging patients in therapeutic activities that support their treatment goals.
- Assures the safety of patients, including crisis intervention.
- Document recovery activity groups in Aura as required by DDAP standards.
- Transports patients as needed.
- Provides coverage for the counselor technicians as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Attends GRC mandatory trainings and in-services.
