About The Position

Provo Parks and Recreation is hiring recreational sports specialists to staff various programs within the Recreation Division. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements listed in the description to be eligible for consideration. This is an open file posting. Applications will be considered in the order they are received for any positions available at that time. They will remain on file for a minimum of 60 days.

Requirements

• A working knowledge of the sport (or sports) to which the applicant is applying (i.e., basketball, wrestling).
• At least 16 years of age to for most positions; 18 years or older to perform as Site Supervisor.
• Officiating experience is preferred for related positions.
• Must successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
• Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
• Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.

Responsibilities

• Referee, supervise, or keep score at a variety of youth and adult sports (basketball).
• Work with children during sports camps to improve abilities/skills in various sports.
• Provide both instruction and lesson plans for program participants.
• Oversee staff and all program operation as site supervisor at a given location.
• Assist office staff as needed and perform other related duties as required.
