Riverdale City is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and community-focused Recreation Specialist to help coordinate recreational programs and activities that enrich the quality of life for residents of all ages. This position plays a key role in supporting the City's recreation offerings, fostering positive community engagement, and assisting with special events. Requirements

Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience performing recreation, community services, event coordination, or closely related duties; or An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge of recreation program development and administration.
Knowledge of rules and regulations associated with various sports and recreational activities.
Knowledge of personal computers and common software applications, including: Microsoft Word, Spreadsheets, General office software programs.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, volunteers, community organizations, participants, and the public.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from a variety of age groups and backgrounds.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
Demonstrates sound judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
Successful completion of a background check.
Negative drug and alcohol screening results.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and support City recreation programs and activities.
Assist with the planning, organization, and implementation of community recreation services.
Promote positive public relations and maintain a favorable image of Riverdale City.
Monitor, maintain, and control the use of recreation equipment and supplies.
Assist with the City's annual Old Glory Days Celebration and other special events.
Collaborate effectively with City staff, volunteers, community partners, and participants.
Provide excellent customer service to residents and program participants.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
