About The Position
Community Care is hiring an Recreation Specialist to join our team. This position is a Full-Time position at our Waukesha location.
Requirements
- Bachelors in Recreational Therapy or other related field or Associates in Occupational Therapy
- A minimum of 1 year of personal, Clinical/internship and/or employment experience providing care or services for a frail or elderly population required.
- 1-2 years developing and implementing programming for individuals with intellectual disabilities, frail elders, or physically disabled.
Nice To Haves
- Dementia programming experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the designated site specific Manager or Supervisor and as a member of the Community Care inter-disciplinary team they are responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate, therapeutic recreational activities for all members including those with cognitive, developmental and physical disabilities.
- Provides direction and support to Recreation Assistants and other staff members as appropriate.
