About The Position

The City of Peoria is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the team as a Facility Operations Lead / Recreation Programmer at the Rio Vista Recreation Center. This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of recreational programs, activities, and special events held at the recreation center, parks, schools, and other community locations. Additional responsibilities may include completing other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Two-year college program or equivalent combinations resulting in accumulation of similar knowledge or skills
2-4 years of experience in the same or similar previous position.
Valid AZ Driver’s License required upon hire.
Community Infant, Child, Adult CPR and First Aid for positions that work in licensed programs required within two weeks of hire.
Possess strong customer service and communication skills.
Maintain a positive, friendly attitude and effectively plan and coordinate recreational activities.
Have experience overseeing daily facility operations, including setup and organization.

Responsibilities

Managed daily operations of the recreation center, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patrons and staff
Monitored facility usage, enforced policies and safety procedures, and resolved customer concerns in a professional manner
Assist in organizing, promoting, and implementing recreational programs in specialized areas such as special events, senior services, instructional classes, professional sports, adaptive recreation, adult and youth sports, aquatics, preschool, youth and teen programs, and cultural activities.
Conduct on-site program inspections and evaluations to ensure adherence to safety standards and program policies.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting patrons, participants, and community members with information about recreation programs, policies, and services.
