About The Position

The Recreation Manager will supervise all recreation department operations and personnel, including pool attendants, beach attendants, and kid club attendants. The role involves creating safe, fun, and diverse programs to engage children and enhance guest vacations and resort stays. This position has a potential career path towards Director of Recreation or Director of Guest Relations.

Requirements

  • Must be well organized, responsible, have great energy, be creative, and possess problem-solving skills.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Previous accounting experience or equivalent training required.
  • Proficient in using Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of PMS/accounting systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planned activities, including creating, planning, and facilitating social/sports activities effectively and professionally.
  • Participate and entertain children of all ages with games, seasonal programs, or other approved activities, such as crafts, team building, and outdoor recreation.
  • Manage a team of pool attendants, beach attendants, and kids club attendants.
  • Interact with parents, ensuring their comfort level with the programs, the staff, and the safety and well-being of their children.
  • Schedule and promote activities throughout the hotel to ensure guests are aware of available options.
  • Ensure a variety of programs are available to meet guest needs.
  • Manage all scheduling and training programs of recreation staff.
  • Repair or replace equipment, always maintaining good condition.
  • Perform minor maintenance on facilities and structures.
  • Complete incident reports as needed and hand them in immediately.
  • Oversee correct computer work, including time punches, schedules, and billing.
  • Clean and organize bathrooms, office, and storage rooms.
  • Pick up debris, rake sand, and organize lawn furniture to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Take proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns.
  • Follow property-specific second effort and recovery plan.
  • Extend professionalism and courtesy to guests at all times.
  • Provide a high level of anticipatory service and interest in guests.
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure safety.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
