RECREATION MANAGER
About The Position
Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Recreation Manager at Tampa Residential Youth Academy in Tampa, Florida. The Tampa Residential Facility serves moderate-risk male youth aged 14 to 18 who require behavioral/mental health and substance abuse services. The programs utilize evidence-based practices to provide comprehensive care, treatment, and supervision. Youth will also receive psychotherapeutic services, including individual, family, and group counseling while at the program. After 40 years of improving the lives of youth, we are looking for passionate advocates to continue the legacy of helping young people become successful adults. As a Recreation Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to create a positive, safe and supportive environment for the youth we serve while building a career rich in growth opportunities and self-fulfillment.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in recreational therapy or related field (such as recreation, leisure studies, or physical education) which included an internship or practicum experience -or- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credentialing.
- A minimum of one year of related experience working with youth is required.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate structured and organized physical activities to restore motor, social and cognitive functioning, build confidence, develop coping skills, and promote wellness and pro-social activities.
- Integrate physical and mental health wellness goals into the youths’ individualized treatment plans.
