About The Position

Under the supervision of a Program Coordinator or Recreation Specialist, the Recreation Leader II develops and/or leads various recreational activities. This position requires availability for flexible hours and schedules, including weekends and holidays. The role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, providing excellent customer service, and managing various administrative and operational tasks within the Summit Fitness & Recreation Center.

Requirements

Completion of two years of high school
One (1) year of experience as a recreation leader or a related role
One (1) year of cash handling experience

Responsibilities

Ensures the safety and well-being of campers and program participants
Provides excellent customer service to patrons, renters, and the public (phone and in-person)
Develops, leads, and supervises general recreation programs, activities, and special events
Opens and closes various facilities and performs attendant duties
Maintains essential records and prepares reports
Receives payments and records registration/membership information
Uses internal system to track patron attendance and program finances
Performs daily administrative tasks (cleaning, filing, sorting, answering phones, copying)
Conducts pre/post event rental checklists with renters
Assists with the setup, cleanup, and breakdown of programs, events, and activities
Serves meals and snacks to program participants as needed
Supervises and enrolls customers in general recreation programs for all ages across Summit Recreation Center areas (childcare, rock climbing, fitness studio, courts) and at events
Adheres to City financial controls while enrolling customers and selling Summit memberships
Ensures all membership guidelines, procedures and controls are followed
Follows administrative, financial, and safety policies
Performs other duties as assigned
