About The Position

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Recreation Instructor. The primary function of this position is to teach a wide range of recreation classes for early childhood to adult age groups.

Requirements

• Current national fitness certifications are required
• One year of formal fitness teaching experience
• Be able to develop and implement age appropriate fitness classes
• Skilled and passionate about teaching in a structured, fun recreation environment
• Minimum of an 8-12 week teaching commitment
• Must be 18+ years
• This position requires a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and fingerprinting required.

Nice To Haves

• Current CPR and First Aid certification are preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Curriculum planning, implementing programs and/or classes
• Classroom management by adapting to participant's needs and behaviors
• Instruction of specialized courses or skills
• Record keeping by maintaining attendance sheets, participant contact information and liability waivers
• Maintaining confidentiality and using discretion when speaking with parents
• Make recommendations as to enhance and optimize class participation
• Maintain and inspect all classroom tools and equipment
