About The Position

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Recreation Instructor - Group Fitness. The Recreation Instructor reports to the Recreation Coordinator. The primary job duties of this position include: Curriculum planning, implementing programs and/or classes, classroom management by adapting to participant's needs and behaviors, instruction of specialized courses or skills. Record keeping by maintaining attendance sheets, participant contact information and liability waivers, maintaining confidentiality and using discretion when speaking with parents Make recommendations as to enhance and optimize class participation. Maintain and inspect all classroom tools and equipment. Inventory and request supplies.

Requirements

• Current national fitness certifications are required
• One year of formal fitness teaching experience
• Be able to develop and implement age appropriate fitness classes
• Skilled and passionate about teaching in a structured, fun recreation environment
• Minimum of an 8-12 week teaching commitment
• Must be 18+ years
• Pre-employment physical, drug screen, and fingerprinting required

Nice To Haves

• Current CPR and First Aid certification are preferred, but not required
