About The Position

The Town of Snowmass Village is looking to hire a Recreation Instructor to join our Parks, Recreation and Trails team! This is an in-person part-time position, offering part-time benefits and scheduled to start working on or after April 2026 We are looking for a Recreation Instructor that will assist with the planning and execution of programs, will supervise participants to ensure their safety and well-being, communicates effectively and work cooperatively with participants, families, and supervisors. Requirements

  • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control, good character, integrity and adaptability.
  • Ability to deal with conflict professionally and effectively.
  • Ability to relate to others, inside and outside of one’s peer group.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant activity/sport specific training represented by a certification or award, preferred but not required.
  • Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification, preferred but not required; or able to acquire within 6 months after start date.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the enjoyment and safety of all participants by maintaining the program site, implementing safe practices, and leading well organized activities.
  • Must be able to instruct relevant skills for specific activities.
  • Uses creativity and ingenuity to develop a variety of programs including activities, games, lessons, etc. as applicable to the activities taught.
  • Educates participants on etiquette, activity skills, and techniques.
  • Ensure that daily programs meet the general needs of participants by making any reasonable accommodations specific to guests as necessary.
  • Independently ensures correct roll call for programs, and runs transactions as needed for accurate record keeping.
