As a member of our Parks, Recreation and Events team, you will be responsible for the planning, organizing and implementation of recreational activities during the school year and overseeing day-to-day operations at the Doris E. Buffett Pool during the summer season. Work assignments may include: Program Development and Implementation Program creation and implementation involve developing and establishing partnerships, promoting programming, and communicating and coordinating with community partners. Additionally, evaluating programs by conducting participant surveys helps identify areas for improvement and success. Financial and Administrative Support The role involves recording and tracking expenses related to programming, as well as assisting in the development of the annual budget for the department. Staff Management and Training Staff management and training involve hiring, supporting, training, and supervising program staff to ensure they perform effectively. This includes developing comprehensive training materials tailored for specific programs, which helps in maintaining a high standard of service. Additionally, collaborating with instructors is crucial to guarantee that participants receive a high-quality experience, thereby fulfilling the program's objectives and enhancing overall satisfaction. Operations and Logistics Daily pool operations from May 1 to the start of the academic year involve opening and closing duties, supply and merchandise inventory, general custodial tasks, and record management. The role also includes tracking expenses for programming, assisting with the annual PRE budget, and using recreational management software for program promotion and scheduling, along with additional assigned duties.
