About The Position

The Recreation department of the Community Engagement and Cultural Services division has an opportunity for qualified individuals to apply for the position of Recreation Cashier/Receptionist at Meadow Park Sport Centre (MPSC). Reporting to the Guest Services Supervisor, this position offers a variable schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly supporting MPSC’s operational hours of 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. including weekends, starting September 14, 2026, through April 18, 2027. Shift times start as early as 5:30 a.m. and go as late as 9:15 p.m. The Recreation Cashier/Receptionist’s primary role is to be the first point of contact for guests and callers to MPSC and to deliver an excellent customer service experience in a pleasant, positive and professional manner by providing accurate information about MPSC programs and services; Municipal departments, programs and events; the Lost Lake Cross country ski area; Whistler Olympic Plaza; and the resort community. Duties include but are not limited to selling memberships, collecting admissions, and registering people for programs, both in person and over the phone.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma.
  • At least 1 year of previous experience in a similar role involving customer service, cashiering, and use of Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite proficiency.
  • Knowledge of a variety of sports, creative programs, and activities.
  • Sound knowledge of the resort community.
  • Valid class 5 BC driver’s license.
  • Satisfactory driver’s abstract.
  • Police Information Check prior to beginning employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a recreation setting.
  • Familiarity with recreation software.
  • Current first aid certification.
