About The Position

The City of Harrisonburg's Parks and Recreation department is seeking a Recreation Attendant Senior - Facilities to join their team. This year-round, part-time position offers a preferred hiring rate of $17.92 per hour. The role involves taking the lead during unsupervised hours, ensuring professional customer interactions, overseeing the safety of program areas, patrons, and staff, promoting Parks & Recreation offerings, assisting with programs and activities, and handling office equipment for data entry, transaction processing, daily receipt reconciliation, and financial record preparation. This position is ideal for individuals with customer service and leadership skills who want to make a positive impact.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Moderate (1-3 years) experience in a customer service position or a recreational environment
At least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within the first three months of employment
Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet business requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Responsibilities

Take the lead during unsupervised hours.
Ensure all customer interactions (in person or by phone) are professional and informative.
Oversee the safety and well-being of program areas, patrons, and staff.
Promote Parks & Recreation offerings.
Lead or assist with a variety of programs and activities.
