About The Position

The City of Jersey Village is hiring a part-time Recreation Assistant for its Parks & Recreation Department. The role supports community recreational programs and activities, including sports, camps, arts and crafts, and special events. The Recreation Assistant works independently and collaboratively to help activities run smoothly, from setup through cleanup.

Requirements

• Willingness to complete Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification within three months of hire.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Passion for community recreation and service.

Responsibilities

• Support the Recreation & Events Supervisor in executing community programs and events.
• Assist with program registration, facility openings and closings, and participant supervision.
• Set up and take down equipment and help ensure facility safety.
• Interact positively with patrons and assist with public relations.
• Report safety or property issues.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for facility users.
• Assist with incident reporting and other administrative tasks as needed.
