About The Position

The City of Jersey Village is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant to support its Parks & Recreation Department. The role helps create and deliver safe, engaging community programs and activities, including sports, camps, arts and crafts, and special events. The Recreation Assistant works independently and collaboratively with a team to help ensure programs and facilities run smoothly, from setup through cleanup. The schedule is flexible and includes evenings and weekends based on program needs.

Requirements

• Willingness to complete Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification within three months of hire.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• A passion for community recreation and service.

Responsibilities

• Support the Recreation & Events Supervisor in executing community programs and events.
• Assist with program registration, facility openings and closings, and participant supervision.
• Set up and take down equipment and help ensure facility safety.
• Interact positively with patrons and assist with public relations.
• Report safety or property issues.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for facility users.
• Assist with incident reporting and other administrative tasks as needed.
