About The Position

The City of Chandler Community Services Department is seeking qualified individuals for a part-time, temporary, non-benefited Recreation Assistant position for adult sports programs at Tumbleweed Recreation Center. This position serves at the discretion of the department director and is scheduled for 10-19 hours per week, with shifts on weeknights and weekends. The role involves planning and overseeing adult sports leagues, as well as providing facility site supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience with sports fields and facility operations, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Requirements

• Some High School education
• 1 year of experience in a recreation environment
• A First Aide/CPR Certification is required within 90 days of employment
• A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of experience working in a facility or sports field supervision

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee adult sports leagues
• Provide facility site supervision
