About The Position

This position is classified as safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations and the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act. As a safety-sensitive employee, you are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is included in the testing panel. Possession of a medical marijuana card does not exempt an employee from testing requirements or disciplinary action for a positive result. Under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Recreation Aide is a part-time position with the main responsibility to assist with recreation facilities duties assigned on a daily shift, which may change from day to day. This includes working at the front desk, answering phone calls, handling money, speaking with community members, continually supervising play in the gymnasium and other areas of the facility, helping with programs, and occasionally working after hour evening and weekend rentals, programs and special events.

Requirements

  • Must possess great people skills, work well with all ages, and deliver great customer service.
  • Applicant must be able to work on a team and be willing to take direction.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to administer customer service at a high level.
  • Knowledge of proper use and handling of chemicals used in cleaning.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to make decisions using good judgment and assume responsibility for their actions.
  • Applicant must be 16 years old or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in customer relations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform janitorial duties at the facility as needed on a daily basis.
  • Maintain and restock supplies.
  • Assist with reset of spaces include setting up or taking down tables, chairs, nets, equipment, etc.
  • Assist with various activities, programs, sports leagues, events, and classes.
  • Handle cash daily and enter transactions on the computer.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, safety incidents, or conflicts, following department protocols.
  • Maintain communication with the Facility Manager and Manager on Duty regarding operational updates or issues.
  • Remain compliant with department policies and safety regulations.
  • Handle public inquiries, complaints, or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
