About The Position

The Recreation Aide organizes and directs trainees in leisure-time recreation/non-vocational activities and leadership programs. This role assists in center-sponsored trips and events, including escorting and chaperoning, and may drive students on trips/events. The Aide also assists with Water Safety programming (videos, swimming certification and swim lessons) and CIS documentation if applicable. They may provide instructions to trainees in various recreational clubs such as sports, poetry, drama, talent shows, etc., and other creative activities, such as arts and crafts. Additionally, the Recreation Aide mentors students in the Recreation Aide Program to help establish life skills and ensures that all programs comply with DOL requirements. Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates of Arts degree or one (1) year of related experience working with youth.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule to include weekends, holidays and/or nights.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
