About The Position

Sutton Park Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is hiring for Per diem Recreation Aides. This role requires an upbeat, energetic, and caring individual who is reliable and a team player. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing, warm, and caring personality with the ability to create engaging programs for residents. Responsibilities include supervising activities and special events, utilizing creative talents in areas like art, music, readings, or dance, and demonstrating good listening and communication skills with follow-through.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Certain certifications may be required
• Physical fitness, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands
• Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills
• Excellent resource management and record-keeping
• Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds
• Flexibility to work when needed, especially some evenings, weekends and holidays

Nice To Haves

• Two years’ experience in recreation in a geriatric setting
• Ability to work effectively as a team member
• More education or experience with nursing homes, short-term rehabilitation, recreational activities, event planning, or related may be preferred

Responsibilities

• Create programs to get Residents involved and excited
• Supervise activities and special events for the Residents
• Utilize creative talents in one or more areas such as art, music, readings, dance, etc.
• Demonstrate good listening and communication skills and follow through
• Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures
