Recreation Aide (Per-Diem)
About The Position
Momentum at South Bay for Nursing and Rehabilitation is urgently seeking Per diem Recreation Aides. The ideal candidate must be upbeat, energetic, and have a caring personality. They must be reliable and able to work as a team player. The role requires an outgoing, warm, and caring personality with the ability to create programs that get Residents involved and excited. The candidate must be dependable, reliable, and able to supervise activities and special events for the Residents. Creative talents in areas such as art, music, readings, or dance are a plus. Demonstrates good listening and communication skills and follow-through. Interest and experience in Music is a plus!
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Physical fitness, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands
- Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills
- Excellent resource management and record-keeping
- Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds
- Flexibility to work when needed, especially some evenings, weekends and holidays
Nice To Haves
- Two years’ experience in recreation in a geriatric setting
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Interest and experience in Music
- More education or experience with nursing homes, short-term rehabilitation, recreational activities, event planning, or related
Responsibilities
- Create programs to get Residents involved and excited
- Supervise activities and special events for the Residents
- Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures
Benefits
- Salary: $24.65 per hour
