Recreation Aide- Per Diem

About The Position

The Recreation Aide performs a variety of duties to support recreational programs in assigned areas. The role assists with individualized and group recreation therapy programs, provides departmental support, records residents’ attendance, and helps maintain recreational supplies. The Recreation Aide also transports residents to recreational areas and assists with special events, including decorating, cleaning, preparing and distributing invitations and calendars, running errands, and creating displays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Prior patient care experience.
Appropriate New York State Driver’s License may be required, where applicable.

Responsibilities

Assist in coordinating individualized and group recreation therapy programs.
Provide program support and assistance for the department.
Document residents’ program attendance in Daily Attendance Records and provide information for other departmental record keeping.
Ensure proper storage of recreational supplies as appropriate.
Transport residents to and from recreational areas.
Assist with decorating and cleaning for special events.
Prepare and distribute invitations and monthly calendars to interested persons.
Run errands as required.
Prepare displays, such as bulletin boards and presentations.
Perform related duties as required.
