Recreation Aide
About The Position
Responsibilities will include working with the Director of Therapeutic Recreation to coordinate and facilitate a program of social, recreational, and creative arts activities for our Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing residents. Activities may include drama, dance, music, painting, drawing, pottery, exercise, weaving, creative writing, gardening, field trips, etc. Seabury is a premier Not-for-Profit Active Life Plan Community located on 66 acres of beautiful Connecticut countryside. We have a comprehensive continuum of care and services that includes Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and homemaker companion services. In addition, we offer Seabury At Home, an innovative, home-based life care program designed for individuals who prefer to age in place in their own homes. Requirements
- Availability weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities
- Develops, publicizes, implements, and evaluates short and long term programs for residents in the areas of social and recreational activities and creative arts, including but not limited to: Promotion of drama, dance, music, painting, drawing, pottery, exercise, weaving, creative writing, gardening, and other crafts.
- Planning and coordination of field trips, special events and guest speakers/artists.
- Coordination with and solicitation of appropriate community resources to promote resident participation in the community and involvement of the community.
- Keeps records of resident participation and interest.
- Coordinates with other staff members relating to scheduling of events and use of facilities and services on committees as needed.
- Understands and supports the philosophy and mission of the facility.
- Conveys a professional and caring image.
- Abides by residents' rights.
