About The Position

Surge Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking a Full-time Recreation Aide. This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising recreational activities and special events for residents in a rehabilitation and nursing home setting. The ideal candidate will possess a caring, energetic, and dependable personality, with a strong ability to engage residents, particularly those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from diverse backgrounds. The position requires adherence to safety policies and procedures, excellent organizational skills, and a compassionate approach to resident care.

Requirements

A high school diploma and certain certifications may be required
Physical fitness, including the ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands
Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills
Excellent resource management and record-keeping
Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds
Flexibility to work when needed, especially some evenings, weekends and holidays
Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures
Outgoing, warm, upbeat, energetic and caring personality
Ability to create a program to get Residents involved and excited
Dependable, Reliable and able to supervise activities, special events for the Residents
Demonstrates good listening and communication skills and follow through
Must be reliable, fun and engaging for Resident activities
Must have Long term care experience
Must work as a team player
