Requirements

  • Strong understanding of safety hazards and essential precautions is vital to create a secure environment for all participants in recreation and athletic programs.
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals and techniques of various sports, fitness, cultural, and arts activities.
  • Ability to develop and administer engaging recreation and athletic programs tailored to the community's needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and community members.
  • Positive and energetic approach.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions sufficient to be able to establish a safe environment for recreation and athletic program participants.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals and techniques of athletics fitness cultural/social activities and/or arts and crafts sufficient to be able to perform a variety of duties related to the work assignment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the working environment and with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Must pass a thorough criminal background check due to the sensitivity of the information handled by this position.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising exciting seasonal programs and activities, including our vibrant aquatic program.
  • Inspecting facilities for potential hazards, ensuring a safe environment for all participants.
  • Promptly reporting any broken equipment to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Answering telephone inquiries and providing valuable information regarding athletic and recreation programs, as well as registration details.
