About The Position

North Westchester Restorative Therapy is urgently seeking a Per Diem Recreation Aide. This role requires an individual who is upbeat, energetic, and possesses a caring personality. The ideal candidate must be reliable, work effectively as a team player, and have an outgoing, warm demeanor. The ability to create engaging programs that involve and excite Residents is crucial. The role involves supervising activities and special events for the Residents, utilizing creative talents in areas such as art, music, readings, or dance. Strong listening and communication skills with good follow-through are essential. Interest and experience in music are considered a plus.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Certain certifications may be required
• Physical fitness, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands
• Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills
• Excellent resource management and record-keeping
• Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds
• Flexibility to work when needed, especially some evenings, weekends and holidays

Nice To Haves

• Two years' experience in recreation in a geriatric setting
• Ability to work effectively as a team member
• Interest and experience in Music

Responsibilities

• Create programs to get Residents involved and excited
• Supervise activities and special events for the Residents
