About The Position

The Recreation Aide organizes and directs trainees in leisure-time recreation/non-vocational activities and leadership programs. This role assists in center-sponsored trips and events, including escorting and chaperoning, and may drive students on these occasions. The Aide also supports Water Safety programming, which may include videos, swimming certification, and swim lessons, as well as CIS documentation if applicable. Additionally, the Recreation Aide may instruct trainees in various recreational clubs such as sports, poetry, drama, talent shows, and other creative activities like arts and crafts. A key aspect of this role is mentoring students in the Recreation Aide Program to help them establish life skills.

Requirements

Associates of Arts degree or one (1) year of related experience working with youth required.
Must be flexible with work schedule to include weekends, holidays and/or nights.
Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
