About The Position

NHC Hendersonville is seeking a Recreation/Activities Assistant to provide therapeutic programs that meet each patient's individual needs while creating an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment. The role focuses on offering daily meaningful activities that enhance residents' quality of life in long-term care, memory care, or rehabilitation settings. The ideal candidate is compassionate, caring, creative, energetic, and knowledgeable about wellness domains as they relate to long-term-care programming.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Self-motivated, creative, and positive, with genuine enthusiasm.
• Compassionate and caring, with a desire to work with seniors.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to work as a team player and collaborate with other departments.
• Basic typing and computer skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Publisher for producing monthly calendars, newsletters, and other external and internal marketing materials.
• Ability to work with family members, partners, and the community.
• Knowledge of wellness domains as they relate to programming in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a well-rounded wellness program for assigned long-term-care, memory-care, or rehabilitation patients.
• Complete assessments, care plans, and associated paperwork in a timely manner.
• Ensure programming meets local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Help create an enjoyable atmosphere and bring fun to activities.
• Work with family members, partners, and the community.
• Collaborate with other departments to build staff morale.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
