Gaudenzia is seeking hope-bringers and changemakers to join their team as Recovery Support Professionals. This role is crucial in promoting long-term recovery by providing comprehensive treatment and support to individuals with substance use disorder, co-occurring mental health disorders, and related conditions. Gaudenzia operates on a 24/7 basis, and this position requires flexibility in availability due to changing staffing needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Possess a valid driver's license for at least 3 years
  • Driver's license must be in VALID, not SUSPENDED status
  • No more than 2 moving violations or reportable accidents within the past three years
  • No DUI or accidents with fatalities within the past 5 years
  • Flexibility in availability as scheduling/staffing needs may periodically change
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients and aid them in adjusting to their specific problems
  • Basic knowledge of substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relations with staff, other agencies, and the public
  • Ability to successfully work with others from various cultures and backgrounds
  • Ability to work various shifts
  • Basic computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Outlook for email, as well as Word and Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred
  • Successful completion of residential treatment program may be substituted for residential services experience (one month treatment = one month service)

Responsibilities

  • Screen and process new admissions, take head counts during hourly runs, and document hourly runs and client movement in the communication log.
  • Screen clients' personal belongings upon entry, monitor client movement in and out of the facility, and account for their whereabouts. Maintain and monitor the client sign-out book.
  • Coordinate in-house activities based on the program's schedule, which could include chores, breaks, exercise time, leisure time, and visitations.
  • Maintain accurate daily census, know where clients are on the floor, and report infractions and incidents to appropriate staff.
  • Conduct client orientation sessions, seminars, and morning meetings as directed.
  • Transport or assist clients traveling to and from medical and/or other appointments.
  • Conduct and document room searches and perform random searches of clients as directed by the program supervisor.
  • Deny access to unauthorized persons.
  • Supervise, where appropriate, clients taking their medications.
  • Perform regular room checks to ensure clients are on floors or in their rooms per program schedule.
  • Follow protocol for reporting unauthorized absences.
  • Monitor urinalysis/drug screening and breathalyzers as instructed by the supervisor on duty.
  • Monitor daily program activities, including meals and medication line.
  • Tour the facility at regular intervals to check building security and ensure there are no fire or safety hazards in accordance with program and regulatory policies. Conduct fire drills and safety checks, including safety and security of the facility, checking fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and Narcan availability.
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean and complete weekly vehicle inspections.
  • Ensure facility cleanliness and safety through regular inspection of sanitation procedures, including pest control, the storage of supplies and clients' belongings, and submission of work orders for any needed repairs.
  • Ensure property maintenance related to inclement weather, including shoveling, salting, and de-icing walkways and vehicles, as directed.
  • Complete written reports, documentation, and electronic incident reports as required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.
