About The Position
Share your recovery experience to help others in your role as a Recovery Specialist at Chestnut. Experience the satisfaction of helping to facilitate self-directed recovery. This full-time position will be based in Granite City, IL.
Requirements
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) in good standing with the applicable state
- Five years of demonstrated recovery experience and/or engaged in a recovery network, Crisis Intervention Treatment (CIT), policing, mental health, substance use or other social service experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable.
- Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and an electronic medical record (EMR).
Responsibilities
- Engage clients in services prior to their treatment.
- Help individuals to identify personal strengths and barriers to achieving treatment and recovery goals and to develop natural supports and sobriety-based activities to support long-term recovery.
- Consult and encourage clients on concerns and achievements presented during the recovery process.
- Link clients to recovery communities and ancillary services.
- Coordinate services with treatment team and other supports.
- Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness.
