Our pay ranges are built to allow for candidates with various levels of skill and experience to be considered, as well as for room for growth and tenure achieved in a role over time. Typical new hire salary offers fall within the minimum to midpoint of a pay range for many candidates. Any offer extended to a candidate will be based upon their unique set of knowledge, skills, education, and experience as well as internal equity. Pay Range: $24.56 - $35.62 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years of prior related experience required
  • Knowledge FDCPA, TCPA and SCRA
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Advanced conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Advanced computer and typing skills
  • Advanced skip tracing skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous financial institution or credit union experience required
  • Experience with queue management preferred
  • Experience with inbound/outbound phone system preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for the collections team and assists in reviewing accounts to determine appropriate collection and legal remedies to recover charged-off loans, various stages of delinquency and appropriate recovery options to reduce delinquency and prevent losses, and/or establish validity of bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Provide technical support to teammembers within Collections Recovery and other departments of the Credit Union.
  • Position may focus on one or more of the functions described below (Charge-off, Repossession or Bankruptcy).
  • Charge-Off Functions: Work on charged-off loans through inbound/out-bound calls, written and electronic correspondence, and other approved methods.
  • Responsible for working specialized queues for legal recovery efforts.
  • Performs advanced research and analysis to identify and approve accounts for legal recovery efforts and works with attorneys in all aspects of the litigation process.
  • Works directly with collection agencies on monthly remittance statements and invoicing, ensuring accuracy of the report.
  • Assists management with miscellaneous projects and reporting including annual 1099-C tax form filing, monthly audits, collection agency scorecards, and vendor management oversight.
  • Represents the Credit Union at court appearances, as needed.
  • Repossession Functions: Works on delinquent vehicle loans through inbound/out-bound calls, written and electronic correspondence, and other approved methods.
  • Responsible for working specialized queues for vehicle loans.
  • Performs advanced research and analysis on vehicle loans to approve and assign vehicle loans for repossession as well as litigation review.
  • Responsible for vendor oversight to ensure timely assignments and execution of repossession requests, inventory, and sales.
  • Assists with annual vendor audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Assists management with miscellaneous projects and reporting, including month end reports.
  • Responsible for reconciling applicable general ledgers on a monthly basis.
  • Represents the Credit Union at court appearances, as needed.
  • Bankruptcy Functions: Performs file maintenance on accounts to accurately reflect the current bankruptcy status and all arrangements made through the bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Determines Credit Union position in bankruptcy and processes proof of claims, reaffirmations, non-dischargeable and relief from stay.
  • Works towards prompt recovery of collateral through negotiations with bankruptcy attorney and/or court.
  • Works specialized queues related to bankruptcy as assigned and properly maintains Credit Union records to reflect collection efforts and activity.
  • Assists management with miscellaneous projects and reporting, including month end reports.
  • Represents the Credit Union at court appearances, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions.
