About The Position

The Recovery Counselor is a paraprofessional treatment team member who provides direct care to meet clients’ physical and psychosocial needs through direct and indirect physical and verbal interaction. The role helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for clients, visitors, staff, and physicians by modeling appropriate behaviors, monitoring daily client activities, and maintaining vigilance over the facility’s general milieu. The counselor follows safety regulations and helps keep the facility clean, orderly, sanitary, and attractive, including assisting with client laundry, household cleaning, and other tasks as needed. The position must be added to the Approved Driver list and may drive clients in a company vehicle as requested. Duties may also include screening incoming clients or visitors for contraband, inventorying client property, monitoring surveillance equipment, controlling access to the center, directing incoming clients, conducting physical security checks of the grounds, and responding to fires or other emergencies.
