About The Position

Change Grow Live is a charity dedicated to helping individuals change the direction of their lives, grow as individuals, and live life to its full potential. They are seeking a Recovery Coordinator to join the Peterborough Aspire Team and Children's Social Care. This role focuses on supporting families under Child Protection and Child in Need orders, requiring experience in safeguarding and trauma-informed care. The team supports individuals with drug and/or alcohol issues. The position is part-time, 30 hours per week, and permanent. The salary is subject to review in line with the 2025/26 pay award.

Requirements

  • A commitment to multi-agency working and establishing partnerships with other professions to achieve good outcomes for the service user group, e.g. mental health services, criminal justice agencies, community groups, etc.
  • Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field.
  • Experience of safeguarding and working in the substance misuse field.
  • Knowledge of the issues facing families where substance misuse is present.
  • Good knowledge of local community-based support practices.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. For applicants with time-limited visas, unfortunately, we are unable to support new visa applications or extensions.
  • Must pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outreach services to families promoting access for service users and concerned others.
  • Promote carer, service user, and community involvement.
  • Provide advocacy for access to partnership services.
  • Work with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
  • Adhere to CGL policies and processes in the delivery of services – particularly lone working and health and safety related to working with complex service users.
  • Undertake focused work with families of interest.
  • Provide rapid and flexible interventions where required to meet the needs of the service users.
