5280 Recovery High School is Colorado's only recovery high school, serving youth in recovery from addiction. As a public charter school authorized by Denver Public Schools, it offers a high-quality learning environment within a substance-free community. Recovery coaches at 5280 serve as mentors, advocates, and accountability partners for students navigating both recovery and high school. Through authentic relationships, recovery support, and case management, coaches help students develop the skills, recovery capital, resilience, and community connections essential for long-term recovery and success. This role involves leading one-on-one conversations, small groups, and larger school-wide gatherings, as well as supporting students in the classroom to help them achieve their full academic potential. Coaches also maintain regular communication with family members, other 5280 staff, and relevant parties to support students' social and emotional needs. Additionally, coaches are responsible for timely documentation and billing for Medicaid and internal tracking systems.
