About The Position

At Holon Health, we are a healthcare startup dedicated to providing whole-person care to justice-involved individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Our approach integrates medical, behavioral, and social care, prioritizing prevention and recovery. We treat clients with compassion and believe in second chances. We are looking for a mission-aligned Recovery Coach to leverage lived experience in our care model. As a certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRS), you will support justice-involved individuals on their recovery journey by offering encouragement, building trust, and helping them navigate barriers to lasting wellness. Your lived experience will be crucial in building authentic relationships with clients facing complex challenges.

Requirements

  • A person in sustained recovery with at least one year of lived experience (strongly preferred)
  • Certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRS) or Peer Recovery Coach
  • Deeply empathetic, with strong listening and communication skills
  • Knowledgeable about the realities of recovery and the barriers clients may face
  • Committed to maintaining professional boundaries and ethical standards
  • Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Aligned with Holon’s values of equity, inclusion, and whole-person care
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certification as a Peer Recovery Coach or PRS in the state of North Carolina (national certification from an accredited agency like NAADAC is also accepted)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred
  • 1–2 years in a peer support role is strongly preferred
  • Lived experience or close connection to someone in recovery is strongly valued
  • Experience working with justice-involved populations is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Build trusting, nonjudgmental relationships with clients based on shared lived experience
  • Use personal recovery experience to offer hope, motivation, and accountability
  • Collaborate with participants and the Holon care team to develop personalized recovery plans
  • Connect clients to community resources (e.g., housing, healthcare, employment, transportation)
  • Conduct strengths-based assessments to identify client needs and goals
  • Advocate for clients within the justice system, care system, and other relevant environments
  • Partner with Care Navigators, clinicians, and judicial points of contact for integrated care
  • Stay informed on best practices in peer support and recovery-based care
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Contribute to new initiatives and engagement strategies as assigned
