The Recovery Coach is responsible for promoting recovery and removing barriers and obstacles to recovery. They serve as a personal guide and mentor for people seeking or already in recovery from an addiction to alcohol and/or other drugs, modeling recovery principles and practices at all times. This role provides linkages to recovery-oriented, peer support self-help supports and services and community-based mental health, substance use disorder, and family support programs. The Recovery Coach also serves as a liaison between the recovery community, the addiction treatment system, the medical treatment system, and the member’s community, family, and social context to facilitate connections across systems of care.
