The Recovery Coach role is a peer-based, harm reduction focused position based out of the Supervised Consumption Services within Radius. Recovery Coaches leverage lived experience to build trust, credibility, and connection with individuals during critical moments. This position plays a key role in reducing stigma and fostering immediate rapport by meeting people where they are at with empathy and without judgement. Focusing on engagement, empowerment, and connecting individuals to health and social resources, Recovery Coaches support clients in identifying their own goals. The role emphasizes motivational support, practical harm reduction education, and informal navigation of health and social resources. Recovery Coaches help clients access services such as shelter, primary care, mental health supports, and community programs, ensuring they are not navigating complex systems alone. While this is a non-clinical role, the Recovery Coach position is essential in bridging individuals to appropriate care, enhancing safety, and promoting positive engagement with support systems.
