About The Position

Hope Valley Health & Wellness is seeking a passionate Recovery Advocate to join their team in Wasilla, Alaska. This role is pivotal in delivering transformative mental health care through evidence-based practices and holistic therapies, aligning with the company's mission of providing high-quality mental health and addiction treatment with a person-centered approach.

Requirements

Experience working with clients at various levels of care, with an emphasis on substance use disorder or mental health treatment preferred.
Must have and maintain a valid Alaska driver’s license, clean driving record, and maintain personal auto insurance coverage.
Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
Must have a current TB test or chest x-ray.
Knowledge of the requirements for providing services needed to clients.
Experience in electronic charting preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA and CFR-42 client confidentiality regulations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work well and quickly under pressure both individually and as part of a team.
Excellent project management skills to consistently meet deadlines.
Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Monitors clients by conducting safety checks.
Monitors, logs and reports on client detox withdrawal symptoms and/or significant changes.
Monitors and records client vital signs.
Charts medication observations, shift notes and DAPs in EHR.
Provides clients with education on medication, substance abuse education, healthy lifestyle, and sleep routines.
Conducts medication pass by the observation of client self-administration of medication.
Reports medication errors.
Completes medication count each shift.
Assists with medication destruction.
Ensure adherence to facility rules.
Completes incident reports as needed.
Transports clients and pick up medication as needed.
Other duties as assigned
