About The Position

Hope Valley Health & Wellness is seeking a passionate Recovery Advocate to join their team in Wasilla, Alaska. This role is crucial in contributing to the mission of delivering transformative mental health care through evidence-based practices and holistic therapies. The position focuses on supporting clients in their recovery journey by monitoring their well-being, administering medications, and providing educational support.

Requirements

  • Experience working with clients at various levels of care, with an emphasis on substance use disorder or mental health treatment preferred.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Alaska driver’s license, clean driving record, and maintain personal auto insurance coverage.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
  • Must have a current TB test or chest x-ray.
  • Knowledge of the requirements for providing services needed to clients.
  • Experience in electronic charting preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA and CFR-42 client confidentiality regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well and quickly under pressure both individually and as part of a team.
  • Excellent project management skills to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors clients by conducting safety checks.
  • Monitors, logs and reports on client detox withdrawal symptoms and/or significant changes.
  • Monitors and records client vital signs.
  • Charts medication observations, shift notes and DAPs in EHR.
  • Provides clients with education on medication, substance abuse education, healthy lifestyle, and sleep routines.
  • Conducts medication pass by the observation of client self-administration of medication.
  • Reports medication errors.
  • Completes medication count each shift.
  • Assists with medication destruction.
  • Ensure adherence to facility rules.
  • Completes incident reports as needed.
  • Transports clients and pick up medication as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
