About The Position

From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing engaging videos, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA’s message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world. Come join us in support of NASA’s mission to inspire the world through information and discovery. In support of STI Compliance and Distribution Services, the candidate will lead the Metrics and Reporting task while also providing support for daily operations. Responsibilities as the Metrics and Reporting lead will include the generation of custom metrics, reports, data visualizations, and analyses in response to requests from internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for monitoring and recommending improvements to the organization’s data sharing tools to ensure data partners are able to ingest content from the NASA STI Repository reliably and efficiently. As service offerings and platforms evolve, the candidate will also be responsible for providing recommendations and raising awareness of risks associated with the change to ensure leadership is able to make informed decisions. Responsibilities for the support of daily operations will include the implementation of the policies and associated procedures needed to collect, process, maintain and disseminate scientific and technical information (STI) via the Scientific, Technical, and Research Information DiscoVery System (STRIVES). “Processing” includes, but is not limited to, an analysis of approval and review tracking, change history, and confirmation of any dissemination or limitation determinations against the corresponding full text document when available. Additional tasks include creating descriptive metadata to ensure discoverability of STI via NASA’s STI Repository, providing guidance and training for authors, submitters, and stakeholders of STI, assisting with Information Desk inquiries, and continuously evaluating existing products, systems, and processes to make recommendations, based on industry best practices and trends, to optimize and further modernize workflows.
